From Monday 8 to Friday 12 September 2025, Rozalie Hirs’ new album Infinity Stairs (2025) is featured as Album of the Week (Hollandse Nieuwe) on Passaggio Late Night, NPO Klassiek (Radio 4), hosted by Lex Bohlmeijer and Pieter van Nes.
Each evening, one of the works from the album is broadcast, and Hirs shares insights into the background and inspiration of the piece. Happy listening!

Monday, 8 September 2025: article 10 [prismes] for solo cello (2022), performed by French cellist Marie Ythier. Commissioned by Radio France for the Présences festival. In the interview, Hirs talks about overtone spaces and her use of microtones.

Tuesday, 9 September 2025: article 5 [dolphin, curved time] (2008; text and music: Rozalie Hirs, in Dutch or German), performed by soprano Keren Motseri. Commissioned by Marja Bon for Festival Wendingen. Hirs speaks about birdsong and the language of dolphins.

Wednesday, 10 September 2025: article 6 [six waves] (2013) and article 7 [seven ways to climb a mountain] (2012), performed by Wiek Hijmans (electric guitar) and Fie Schouten (bass clarinet). Hirs explains how the electronic sounds in the works function.

Thursday, 11 September 2025: article 8 [infinity] for flute and electronics (2014), performed by flutist Marieke Franssen.

Friday, 12 September 2025: the trio infinity stairs (2014), performed by Marieke Franssen (flute), Fie Schouten (bass clarinet), and Wiek Hijmans (electric guitar).
