From 19 July until 1 August 2025, Rozalie Hirs is artist-in-resident at the Wolkerstuin (Wolkers’ Garden). During her residency she works on new poems.
The Wolkerstuin at Amstelglorie is a writers’ residency on the outskirts of Amsterdam, located in the original garden house of Jan and Karina Wolkers. The couple tended their garden at Amstelglorie from 1972 to 1980. Thanks to an initial grant from the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, the neglected house and overgrown garden were lovingly restored and modernized by volunteers, and made suitable for guest writers. Since 2018, authors, journalists, graphic novelists, and playwrights have been able to work on their books at the Wolkerstuin; the residency season runs from 1 April to 1 October.
