From 7 February until 15 March 2020 the architectural sound art installation Ways of Space (2019) by Rozalie Hirs (music) and Machiel Spaan (design) is exhibited at Van Doesburg-Rinsemahuis, Museum Drachten, The Netherlands. The exhibition is part of the show Bauhaus and Drachten. The sound installation starts at 15:00 and 16:00 CET on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
In addition, on Monday 3 February 2020 at 14:00 CET Museum Drachten presents a special event in collaboration with the composer and architect: a lecture by Rozalie Hirs and Machiel Spaan on Ways of Space (2019).
Ways of Space (2019) is inspired by the concept of the ‘open floorplan’ developed by Theo Van Doesburg (1883-1931) for his own home in Meudon (near Paris, France). With support of STEIM, M3H architecten, Mondriaanfonds, Maison Van Doesburg, Stimuleringsfonds voor de Creatieve Industrie. It is the third collaborative architecture/sound art project by Spaan and Hirs, after Curvices (2013-present), and The Listening House (2017-present).
