On Monday 9 December 2019 at 20:15 CET Ronan Gil de Morais plays 40 Jahre Sixxen, a concert featuring the sixxen, a set of six metal mallet instruments, originally conceived by Iannis Xenakis for the movement Métaux of his composition Pléïades (1979). The concert, consisting of the performance of a selection of compositions for this special set of instruments, includes performances of Venus [morning star] (2010) by Rozalie Hirs, Métaux by Xenakis, as well as a new piece scored for sixxen and gamelan. The sixxen instruments used during the concert are made by LUNASON, Basel. The location is Großer Saal at Musikakademie, Basel. With special thanks to Sarah Brabo-Durand.
