Between 29 June 2005 and 4 July 2005, Richard Ayres’ new opera The cricket recovers (2005) is performed several times at the Almeida Theatre in London, England. The libretto was written by Rozalie Hirs, based on the eponymous novella by Toon Tellegen. The libretto was translated into English by John Irons.
