On Saturday, 13 June 2026, the Zondvloed Festival takes place in Deventer, featuring performances by Spinvis & Saartje van Camp, Joke van Leeuwen, Meindert Talma, Rozalie Hirs, Maria Barnas, Tjitske Jansen, Idwer de la Parra, Dorpsoudste de Jong, Rutger Zuydervelt (Machinefabriek), Rihab El Majdoubi, and Xillan Macrooy. Zondvloed is organized by Petrichor Publishing, led by Martin Knaapen and Marcel Herms. The festival takes place at the Gasfabriek site in Deventer, near the river IJssel.

From 17:20 to 17:50, Rozalie Hirs appears on stage performing (selections from) her poetry and music cycle dreams of airs (2017–18). The work is based on (cycles of) poems from her collections Geluksbrenger (Querido, 2008), gestamelde werken (Querido, 2012), and verdere bijzonderheden (Querido, 2017). The performance is presented in Dutch (original versions from the collections), German (translated by the author in collaboration with Daniela Seel, published in gestammelte werke (Berlin: kookbooks, 2017)), and English (original versions from gestamelde werken (Querido, 2012), with translations by Donald Gardner, also published in gestammelte werke (Berlin: kookbooks, 2017)).

At 18:30 CET, Rozalie also presents her new poetry collection vragen naar het begin, published earlier this week by Querido. She reads several new poems accompanied by live electronic music by Rutger Zuydervelt (Machinefabriek). During the intermission, Hirs can be found at the stand of Bookshop Praamstra, where the new collection is available and where there is an opportunity to have your own copy signed by the author.
