On Thursday evening, 5 June 2025, at 19:00 CET, Rozalie Hirs presents her poetry and music cycle dreams of airs (2017–18) as part of the international literature festival at Literaturhaus Wien, Austria. This portrait event marks the Austrian premiere of the work. It is also the first time the poet-composer performs the spoken voice part herself; so far, it has been interpreted by the sopranos Nora Fischer and Lore Binon. Visual artist Geert Jan Mulder will generate the moving visuals live during Hirs’ performance.
dreams of airs is a full-length poetry and music cycle developed by Hirs in collaboration with visual artists Boris Tellegen and Geert Jan Mulder. The version presented in Vienna is scored for voice, soundtrack, and live-generated visuals.
