On 9 May 2026, German flutist Isabelle Raphaelis performs a recital at the Württemberger Landesbühne in Esslingen am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The program includes the German premiere of article 8 [infinity] (2014) by Rozalie Hirs.
Isabelle Raphaelis (see portrait above by Ricardo Nunes) is a flutist active in both historical performance practice and contemporary art music. She co-founds Ensemble New Babylon and is a member of Unbroken Consort, the Bremer Barockorchester, and ensemble reflektor. She regularly appears as a guest with Crossing Lines, Barcelona, and with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, Bremen. Isabelle studied with Bettina Wild at the Hochschule für Künste, Bremen, and further developed her skills through masterclasses and chamber music lessons with, among others, Wally Hase, Michael Martin Kofler, and Roberto Fabbriciani. To broaden her musical horizons, she currently studies historical flutes with Marten Root at HfK Bremen and took lessons with, among others, Marc Hantaï, Anne Smith, and Kate Clark. Since March 2019, she holds a scholarship from the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.
