On Sunday 1 December 2019 from 11:00-22:00 CET the most adventurous festival of new music in Amsterdam takes place: MikroFest, curated by Huygens-Fokker Foundation (artistic director: Sander Germanus). The location is Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ (Kleine Zaal), Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Welcome!
Composers featured during the festival are Henk Badings, Fabio Costa, Jan van Dijk, Sebastian Dumitrescu, Matthias Kadar, Juhani Nuorvala, Harry Partch, Joachim F.W. As part of MikroFest 2019, bass clarinettist-at-large Fie Schouten performs her program clarinets in space, including article 7 [ways to climb a mountain] for bass clarinet and electronic sounds (2012) by Rozalie Hirs, as well as world premieres by Cecilia Arditto and Sander Germanus.
