On Sunday 9 June 2019 at 15:30 CET Margot Dijkgraaf interiews the poets Simone Atangana Bekono, Rozalie Hirs, Hester Knibbe, and translator and Jan Mysjkin during Phares du Nord #10. In addition Atangana Bekono, Hirs, Knibbe and their translators Kim Andringa and Jan Mysjkin also read their poems in Dutch and French. This event is part of the 37th Marché de la Poésie, supported by the Netherlands Foundation for Literature. The location is Scène du Marché, Place Saint-Sulpice, in front of Église Saint-Sulpice, Paris, France.
On Saturday 8 June 2019, the evening before, the poets also perform during an evening program .
Hirs’ poems are selected from her three latest books Geluksbrenger (2008), gestamelde werken (2012), and verdere bijzonderheden (2017), published by Uitgeverij Querido|Singeluitgeverijen, and translated into French by Kim Andringa, Daniel Cunin, and Henri Deluy.
The 37th Marché de la Poesie takes place from 5-9 June 2019. The guest of honour at this year’s edition is The Netherlands, presenting the poets Simone Bekono, Benno Barnard, Anneke Brassinga, Tsead Bruinja, Radna Fabias, Rozalie Hirs, Frank Keizer, Hester Knibbe, K. Michel, Martijn den Ouden, and K. Schippers. Featured translators are Kim Andringa, Daniel Cunin, and Jan Mysjkin.
