On 21 December 2023 at 16:00, Kees ‘t Hart will present his new poetry collection Het vogelkerkhof (Publisher Querido, 2023) in Zaal 3, De Constant Rebecqueplein 20A, The Hague. He will read the collection together with thirty colleagues and friends. For the full line-up, see below.
The Bird Cemetery is Kees ‘t Hart’s third collection of poetry. For him, poetry is a lure and a ritual in which he unabashedly draws on low and high myths. The new collection includes an ode to the works of Lord Lister, memories of people and things, and a walk to the poet’s house, where birds gather once a year. Banal and ecstatic epics and lyricism coincide in his poems, in a tone of longing and mystery (cover illustration: Euf Lindeboom). The above picture of Kees ‘t Hart was created by Bob Bronshoff.
